WebQuests vs. Treaure Hunts or Scavenger Hunts
Web Quests are inquiry-oriented lessons in which most or all the information that learners work with comes from the web. WebQuests emphasizes higher-order thinking (such as analysis, creativity, or criticism) rather than just acquiring information. Most WebQuests are group work with the task frequently being split into roles. Quests can be created to take several sessions to complete.

Treasure Hunts or Scavenger Hunts or CyberHunts are mini webquests where students are looking for answers to questions using specific sites on the web. They are usually fact based and students are simply acquiring information. Most of these "hunts" are done independently and can be done in a single session.
