The other day my son had to print a 6 page 'create a magazine" project for school. The night before it was due we discovered that we were out of printer paper and ink. I had an event to attend that evening so I spent the next morning driving around town in the pouring rain looking for an open store that carried the ink I needed. $50+ later the project was complete and turned in. I know that when having kids in school I should have been prepared for events like this and have kept an eye on the printer ink but that is an expense I avoid. After shoveling out my hard earned money I made grumbles about free education not being free and so forth. Since I am in the tech integration business I also grumbled about how easy it would be for teachers to have their students do these projects digitally thus saving parents time and money. I do realize that most teachers have a few other things to think about besides all of the available free tech tools out there.
Now for my son's project there are many options out there for him to create it on the web and share it with his teacher. But I want to focus on one tool that I just discovered. Page O Rama lets you easily create a web page using a template that resembles Word or Docs. It is simple and straightforward. If you enter your email address you will be able to edit and delete the page but you do not need an email address to create the webpage. If you don't enter your email address you will need to be sure you have it just the way you want it before you hit save.
To present these projects students can project them onto a screen for the audience to see or the teacher can put links to the projects' sites on a webpage or a symbaloo tile.
Let me know your thoughts. Is this a tool you might utilize?
